Charity Dinner - Friday 11th October 2024
125 people enjoyed a great night at the Regatta Charity Dinner on Friday night (11th) at the Davistown RSL. They were entertained by the musical offerings of Budi Bone and enjoyed a great meal provided by the club. Through a series of Auctions, Silent Auctions, Raffles and Lucky Dips a very generous crowd enabled us to raise almost $7,000 for the Kids with Cancer Foundation – a fantastic result for a very deserving charity who we have now supported for the last 6 years. A highlight was the live auctioning of a painting of the Davistown Waterfront generously donated by the artist – Lorraine Parker.
The running of the night and the setup of the auditorium could not be faulted and kudos must go t the Organising Sub-committee led by Doreen Mulcahy.
About Kids with Cancer Foundation
Kids with Cancer Foundation Australia is a small independent children’s charity. It has no specific affiliation to any hospital and operates Australia wide to provide support to families of pre-teen children who are in financial difficulties caused directly from their children being treated for cancer. The financial assistance used to help families is made up entirely of donated funds. 100% of the funds donated are used to help families in financial trouble by paying their bills and other everyday expenses. This includes and household bills and/or general living expenses relating to a families everyday living needs. There are several examples of assistance being provided to families on the Central Coast and to the John Hunter Hospital.
